Please remove this post as it is outdated. Many of the links are broken, the code reference stale and, while probably pretty good information when it was current, it really doesn’t serve a purpose now. I’d like to see an updated tutorial that leverages the changes Facebook has recently undergone. Also, it helps to apply dates to your posts.

why?

Very helpful tutorial. I followed it and now got my first facebook application up and running.
One thing that isn’t working for me is adding my test application to the Fan(business) page.

I want it to appear in the right (wide) column. Though, after adding it to the Fan Page, only “application header” gets displayed.

What am I missing?

now if i want to send invitations (not email, but an application invitation) to friends, what do i do?

can you please post a script/php file to do that?

i’ve seen your email invite code, but it dint show as to how to send actual invites within facebook itself..
